Here's Why I Chose To Write A Self-Love Journal: Walking Through Self-Love

Self-Love is choosing you first. Self-Love is not accepting treatment that you don't deserve. Self-Love is holding yourself to a higher regard and standard that is filled with love, joy, and respect. Self-Love is knowing that happiness, confidence, and self appreciation comes from within. Self-Love starts with you, not an outside source. Self-Love can come and go, and come again based on a variety of factors throughout our lives. Those factors may include: Loss, Abusive Relationships, Self-Esteem Issues, Unhappy Childhood, or spending time in environments or around people that are over critical and negative towards you. Whatever reason or point in your life that you may have experienced a Lack of Self-Love in, I'm hear to tell you that you are not alone...

I created my Self-Love Journal: Walking Through Self-Love ~Daily Journal of Appreciation~, and Self-Published on Amazon on 6/26/20. I love journals because of the ability to release and pour out negative or unsettling emotions that are lingering in my mind. I have a variety of journals at home. One thing I noticed was that the journals I have are filled with blank pages, so I have to think about what I want to let out. When creating my journal, my intent was to lead you into expressing yourself as well as healing. I want you to affirm that you will heal, that you will feel better, that you deserve happiness. I want you to highlight your positive attributes, release what no longer serves you, and shift your mind toward an optimistic approach to becoming a better you. 

Last year, a year ago to be exact, I went through a really rough chapter in my life and had to hit the restart button. While I was excelling at work, I was a wreck at home. While I smiled during the day, I cried at night. I had to remember who I was before I began my last 2 year relationship. It was challenging to say the least, but writing helped me. I had to continuously make a conscious effort to focus on my successes, wins, accomplishments, and character development traits over the last year to build my confidence again. I literally walked myself through self-love. Creating this journal was personal for me. Especially considering the many conversations I've had with people over the last year who have been experiencing their own moments of lack in self-love.

This Self-Care Journal will aid in healing, self-love, appreciation, gratitude, and building confidence. What makes this Journal so great to building self-love is that it includes affirmations and phrases that will lead you into identifying areas of your life that you don't give yourself enough credit for. With our busy lives it's always beneficial to take time to reflect and identify why we respond to certain situations, why we feel the way we do, while also giving ourselves positive recognition. Sometimes we have to pour out, to fill back up. This Journal will allow you to do so. This Journal also includes 1 page of Daily Affirmations that will help you to continue focusing on Self-Love and Appreciation, followed by 14 pages where you can create your own Daily Affirmations. This would make a perfect gift for a family member, friend, or co-worker working on their journey back to Self-Love and Happiness. I believe this Self-Love Journal will be beneficial in so many ways because it has been very beneficial for me.
